We recently wrapped up one of the most comprehensive technology upgrade projects in UC1’s history.
Over three months, our team worked aboard an 11-deck, 400-foot offshore multi-purpose vessel — completing seven interconnected technology upgrades from the ground up. Today, we want to share that story with you.

The Scope: Seven Systems, One Team

1. IP Camera System. We removed the vessel’s old Siamese cable, ran new CAT7 throughout all 11 decks, and installed more than 90 IP cameras supported by five dedicated viewing stations — a complete surveillance overhaul from the cable up.

2. Safer Seas Camera System. We installed a compliant IP Safer Seas system providing one full year of recorded video and audio footage, meeting regulatory requirements for maritime operations.

3. PA / GA / PBX Upgrade. New touchscreen control panels modernized the vessel’s public address and general alarm systems. Where existing cables, speakers, and horns were still serviceable, we reused them — keeping costs down without compromising performance.

4. HDTV System. We delivered a 12-channel HD television system over the vessel’s existing coax cable. No new cable runs required — a smarter path to a better result.

5. Cellular Signal Booster. A vessel is a steel structure, and steel blocks signal. Our booster installation ensures reliable mobile connectivity throughout all 11 decks.

6. Network Infrastructure. We built a separate, dedicated client network infrastructure from scratch — clean, documented, and ready to grow.

7. Fiber Optic Termination & Certification. Every fiber run was terminated, tested, and certified, with full documentation delivered to UC1’s standard.
